Diploma in Criminology and Criminal Justice
The Diploma in Criminology and Criminal Justice is designed to equip learners with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in crime prevention, criminal investigation, law enforcement, and the justice system. The course focuses on understanding the causes and effects of crime, rehabilitation of offenders, and maintaining public order through ethical and professional practices. It prepares students to work within various sectors such as the police service, correctional institutions, forensic units, and security agencies.

Course Objectives:

Provide learners with an understanding of the nature, causes, and consequences of crime in society.
Equip students with the skills required for crime detection, investigation, and prevention.
Develop learners’ knowledge of criminal law, criminal procedures, and the justice system.
Promote ethical values and professionalism in the field of criminology and criminal justice.
Prepare graduates for employment in law enforcement, correctional services, and related fields or for further studies in criminology and forensic science.

Minimum Entry Qualification:

A minimum grade of C– (minus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent qualification recognized by the institution.

Duration:

The duration of the course is 18 months (1 year and 6 months), including industrial attachment.
